The Brood was a collaborative project designed to document the evolution of house and techno music from its inception to present day. It consisted of two albums (an original album and a remix album) and a series of singles that were released between 2014 and 2017. It included collaborations with a range of electronic music producers who helped shape the early house and techno scenes in Detroit, Chicago, New York, the UK, (and others in between) from the late 1980s and early 1990s to the present day. By including all of these artists in the project, it is a reference to their contributions to the growth of various electronic music genres and permits their past and present endeavours to influence the current creative process.
In 2020, The Brood Complete release, which included all the tracks from the project as well as some extra remixes, was released.
The following artists contributed to the project:
808 State, Adamski, Alex Smoke, Andy Slate, Ben Long, Carl Cox, Chemical Play, Christian Schwarz, Colin Dale, Darren Emerson, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Detroit's Filthiest, DJ Alfredo, Eddie Fowlkes, Frankie Bones, Gforty, Inxec, Jan Cree, Jimmy Day, Joey Beltram, Juan Atkin,s Lee Pennington, Leeroy Thornhill (The Prodigy), Lenny Dee, Main Ingredient, Mash, Mashall Jefferson, Mia Wallace, Michael Greig, My Evil Twiin, Nickelle, Old, Paris The Black Fu, P-Ben, Phil Hartnoll (Orbital), Plaid, Radioactive Man, Raymond, Lindsay & Kendal, Robert Owens, Silicon Scally, Sqyre, Steve Ward, Suna Path, Swayzak, The Revenge, Tom Taylor, Werner Niedermeier and X-Press 2
